Google Image, but pretty much the same amount of dirt on my tires.
As most of you know, I drive A LOT! I was excited to find out Michelin had a brand new tire hitting the market last Fall, so as soon as my old Latitude Tours were done last November, I ponied up the cash to try out the new Defender LTX M/S tire on each corner. I had 42,734 miles when I purchased the tires for my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo X 4x2 (that got your attention) with the 5.7L HEMI equipped. Ten months later, I am right at 81,000 miles and the tread is reading 8/32nds all the way around. Everytime a service tech sees them I hear, “It looks like you just got new tires,” then I tell them those new tires have seen nearly 40,000 miles (well that number was smaller as you go back in time).
I’ll give a full review in November after one year of ownership. Looks as if these will be 100,000 mile tires for me. Now, realize that I’m the absolute ideal consumer for tires because I do nothing but highway miles in a dry climate with well kept roads in a vehicle that is RWD with matching tire sizes all around. I’m certain I can take these tires to 2/32nds (which I’m banking on these Michelins being able to make it to without safety concerns) and get 110,000 miles on these tires which is about 2.33-2.5 years of driving. Everything is timing out perfectly as planned!

Interesting. Have you had them in rain or snow by any chance? Is the traction on them decent at least?

They handle everything well, even on a RWD vehicle. They actually lose traction gradually and give enough feedback to let you know when the limits are approaching. That alone makes them phenomenal in all situations. They aren’t going to be some tire that makes you invincible (which I think a lot of people think great wet and snow ratings mean). What they do is give you complete confidence while driving correctly for the terrain type.
These are seriously tires that are outstanding at everything. If you needed one tire to do every single task from handle, brake, smooth and quiet ride, wet weather traction, run over potholes and rocks, long tread life, low rolling resistance...seriously these tires are a jack of all trades and master of all (or at least in the top 3 in every category within their segment). I’m astonished, but most people are going to find them boring for that reason!

My GF has had them on her Forester, and they have been wearing great, and have really well, and have had great grip in all conditions.
